Christa Stoop (b. 1982, Ursem - The Netherlands) creates with her brand - VAN CHRISTA - abstract, architectural compositions. I like to work with different printing techniques, such as screen print and fine art print. My work explores geometric shapes and colours inspired by modern architecture, art and design.

The love for geometric shapes originated in the Dutch Polder landscape I grew up in, with its functional lines and characteristics. I am influenced by Dutch artists and designers like Piet Mondriaan, Gerrit Rietveld and Jan Schoonhoven. Also, I have a thing with black and white patterns and colours, especially warm and bright ones.

In my work I like to play with chosen restrictions and mostly work in series. All my artworks have an abstract style and tell a story about the daily (build) environment and landscape.

I am a self-taught artist with a background in law.
