Christa Stoop (1982, Ursem - The Netherlands) creates with her brand - VAN CHRISTA - abstract, architectonic compositions in different media, such as 3D-print, Acrylic and Screen Print. My work explores geometric shapes and colours inspired by modern architecture, art and design.
The love for geometric shapes originated in the Dutch Polder landscape I grew up in, with its functional lines and characteristics. I am influenced by Dutch artists like Piet Mondriaan, Gerrit Rietveld and Jan Schoonhoven. Also I have a thing with black and white patterns and colours, especially warm and bright ones.
In my work I like to play with chosen restrictions and mostly work in series. All my artworks have an abstract style and tell a story about the daily (build) environment and landscape.
