VAN CHRISTA
This series is based on a unique concept, titled "Cees Study Strava”(CSS). Inspired by the passion for cycling shared by my father Cees and his friends, this work captures their scenic rides across the Northern Province of the Netherlands. My father tracks their rides with the Strava app, providing a virtual map of the picturesque Polder landscapes that define the area.
I create these artworks by selecting Polder landscapes shape adjacent to his cycling routes. This way I know for sure he cycled along the landscape ensuring it resonates with his memories. This is an integral part of my concept, giving the artwork a deep personal meaning! Then I edited it digitally, gave it bright colours and a personal touch by adding black and white lines.
Through this creation my profound connection with my father is elevating artistically. Also, it depicts the connection I have with the Polder landscape I grew up in and the geometric lines and shapes I like so much.
The series is ongoing. For the moment, I have selected a series of 3 to print.
